One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All

What bugs me about democrats and republicans is neither really cares about the constitution anymore. Both are guilty. There is a process when you want to add or subtract something from the constitution and so yes, the constitution is a living document, but not at the whim of some oligarchy. It’s called an amendment. Want to make abortion legal and deprive unborn children or the right to live, pass an amendment. Do you want to take money from some and give to others, pass and amendment. Stop having the oligarchy look into the “penumbra” of the constitution to do things that are clearly not spelled out in the constitution. Want to get rid of guns – amendment. The current circus is to pass laws or issue edicts under supposed powers and see what the supreme court feels like and damn the people. Who cares about lip service of protecting our republic or democracy when both parties only serve the oligarchy. The fact that neither party harps on this process tells you how broken things are – Let alone the political persecutions currently taking place. At this rate, we’ll be lucky to have country still intact in 10-15 years. It should be enough to make anyone wonder…

In Dreams

I am a dreamer, as in, I often dream and will wake up and remember the dreams. Sometimes my dreams are fantastical, sometimes they are scary, sometimes they are mundane. But I often wonder about why we dream. Do they mean anything? Are they a glimpse into our id? Or… are they a glimpse into the multiverse?

The multiverse theory goes that there are infinite universes and infinite versions of you. In the multiverse, every possibility does happen somewhere. And the theory with dreams is that dreams connect the conscious of other versions of you and allow you to essentially view other versions of your life.

5 Thoughts About Death

I Should be dead. According to many doctors, I’m over my expiration date by a couple of years. Here are a few thoughts about death that I haven’t read anywhere and keep thinking about.

Think about how you want to be found when you die.

Any of us can go at any second. I thought cancer was going to kill me like the doctors said. They said I had months to live (even though it didn’t feel that way). The cancer treatments were tough but doable. But then a known side effect led me to seek additional medical help. Hours later I was pretty much dead. It can happen fast, even when you think you’re going to have a slow death from cancer. Other ways can be even faster, like a car accident or even something small like a slip-and-fall. For instance, a friend of a friend who was fit and young, one Sunday morning went into the hospital with leg pain. It turned out she had an infection in her leg that had already turned into sepsis and she passed away only hours after being admitted. The point is – death isn’t something you usually plan.

Take a second and walk through your life as if you were somebody else and you’ve passed on. What do you find? How organized are you? What would you want your family to find? This includes a lot of things, like are your pictures organized AND accessible? Are passwords for computers, phones, banking, etc. somewhere that someone you trust can access? Is a will set up?

My Vote is for Lee. Hold the McMuffin…

Utah politics are messed up. We have problems because the state is overwhelmingly conservative, so democrats have to get creative to seize power. What this means in practice is either the democrats are running without party affiliation or running dishonestly as a “republican”. These politicians then send out their code language that democrats in the state pick up on and then just have to dupe enough conservatives to win. It really goes to show that if they didn’t have double standards they wouldn’t have any standards at all.

Some of the common tropes they play on are, “don’t you want to take care of homeless people”. This then leads to a large food bank and government housing, however, suddenly the homeless problem skyrockets along with crime. Or they campaign that they want to create “affordable” housing for your poor children, but then housing, crime, traffic and democrat voters skyrocket. They want to be compassionate to “displaced” foreigners, who then work under fake IDs and steal all our social benefits like welfare, food stamps and hospitals utilizing separate fake IDs thus raising their pay above average citizens while raising the taxes on us actual citizens.

At one time, my city declared itself to be a bedroom community. It was a small college town, more or less, out of building space with mostly single family homes and we wanted to keep it that way. However, misguided voting led to “unaffiliated” mayors who were really all democrats who all pushed plans that expanded government, increased taxes, brought in homelessness and increased crime. But they were all doing it compassionately, don’t you see? What’s worse, is a lot of their boondoggle’s tax hikes keep getting pushed back so that their tax day of reckoning doesn’t hit when it would effect them politically. But all these tax burdens will hit eventually, My property taxes have already doubled in 10 years and with their reckless spending it’s likely to double again soon and then double again.

My favorite line from these clowns is, we haven’t raised taxes in 30 years! or pick whatever time scale. They say that government costs can’t keep up with how much things cost, ie inflation. It’s like, moron, taxes are a percentage, so as inflation goes up, so do taxes! You’re spending is what’s out of control.

So back in 2016, a weird single guy ran for president. He really only ran in one state and appealed to the religious majority with complete insincerity. It was shocking to me how many were like, huh, Mormon, ok and didn’t investigate any further. He openly said he was just trying to play spoiler. He ended up getting way too much of the vote here for my comfort. Now the same turd is running for Senate. I swear I read that he had switched parties in 2018 and was mulling a run for congress. Yet, that seems to have been scrubbed from the internet.

So now he’s running for Senate as an “independent”, he got married, which I’m sure is totally not just for political reasons, and the scam is on again. Instead of running against RINO Pierre Delecto like he could have back in 2018, he’s running against the one guy who probably holds to the constitution more than any other senator and you just have to ask, why? I think it’s pretty obvious.

You may as well vote for a McMuffin from McDonalds if you think this other guy is a good choice, because after a day, they’re both the same thing anyway. But with the Mcmuffin, you can flush it and it’s gone forever where you have to stare at the other turd for 6 years!

It’s insane to me that he even has a whimper of a chance.

A Discount Tire Swindle

About three years ago my wheels needed an alignment on my BMW. I let it go for a little bit, which, knowing me was likely months. Anyway, I finally took it in. One tire was toast and had completely worn out the toe. I didn’t notice it was that bad because is was on the inside edge. I took pics of them, verified they were factory OE tires and went to order some, they were about $350 EA Installed!!!

I was more than a little startled. I then find out my car does not include a spare tire, it does not include a tire repair kit or air compressor. No, my car relies on run-flat tires.

I was searching the web for any type of deal and came across two used run-flats and snatched them up. When they arrived I took them to Discount Tire and had them swap them out. I asked to keep the good tire since it was almost perfect with plenty of tread. When I picked up my car, they said they threw the tire in the trunk and I went about my merry way.

Fast forward to today, I’m dealing with some bad road noise. The noise that you get from a wheel loose. However, the wheels weren’t loose. I suspected the brake rotor since the noise was almost exclusive to low speed and changed with braking (also pretty noticeable brake shake). Anyway, I raised the car to verify my suspicion and just generally check everything.

The brake rotors were definitely warped, so problem solved. Brake pads were pretty low too, so I figured I needed to order both new rotors and shoes for the front. So how were the tires? Pretty good, but again, the toe was a little worn on one tire. I thought, huh, let me compare it against the tire I’ve been holding onto in my garage for three years.

I retrieve the tire and start comparing, but I kind of scratch my head because the tread doesn’t look the same. I just stared trying to figure out what was going on. I finally looked at the side wall and the tire brand said Arroyo, not Bridgestone. All this time, I had never inspected the tire after they gave it back to me. Since they are pretty low-profile, it’s not easy to read the markings so I completely missed it.

I’d never heard of Arroyo. The Arroyo new is an $80 tire while the Bridgestone is $285. Used, maybe $40 for the Arroyo and $175 for the Bridgestone. You do the math.

Maybe it was an honest mistake, two cars with similar tires next to each other? Maybe? But I think it’s incredibly unlikely. More interesting question is tech or manager. Oh well, what do you do?

By the way, I’ve got an Arroyo tire for sale. Great deal, $40! Like New!
