Boondoggles over Practical Projects

Stand up for East Bay Golf. Meeting planned Wednesday, 5 pm at the course. Be there. Stop insanity. – Dick Harmon w Deseret News.

Apparently the city of Provo is needing cash after all the leader’s spending on boondoggles and are going after green space.

So basically, to pay for a bus that no one will use so that the city can look to the outside world as more “green”, they are going to sell actual green space to put down concrete and asphalt…. makes sense…

Just FYI, that bus that no one will use, has a cost that is now over $200 Million!

East Bay GC is one of the busiest courses in the state. Home to four high schools, one college, and two college’s student classes. Not to mention all the locals who use it.

Here’s a run down of other projects Provo has spent money on in the last ten years, and these are only ones that come to mind.

New Courthouse – $90 Million

New Rec Center – $45 Million

New High School – $60 Million plus?

New Elementary Schools – $100 Million Plus?

Park Redesigns – Who Knows

New Conference Center – Unknown contribution

New Hospital – Unknown contribution

Sound and responsible spending right?
