The Y looks different! It was cool watching the parade of lights following the Y trail tonight. I guess tonight was the inaugural lighting of the new Y? Homecoming? Both?
Whatever it was, it looked way better than my video could capture.
I was out with my boys and one of them accidentally dropped a water bottle down a steep slope and it got lodged against a rock. It was close enough that I thought I could retrieve it easy enough. So climbed down a bit, but ground was a bit sketchy, so I went down on one knee to try to balance as I grabbed it.
One of my kids said, dad, ants are crawling on you.
I’m like, don’t care, let’s just grab this quick.
So I got the bottle then looked…
My leg was COMPLETELY covered in red and black ants!!!!
It was so quick, I was maybe kneeling for 10-15 seconds.
Probably should look a little closer where I’m kneeling next time.
My son Tyler is very creative. Lately I’ve been showing him a bunch of programs on the computer to open that creativity to the digital world and this morning he made me this. Love it!
I was given the honor of being a pallbearer at my grandfather’s funeral. It was a strangely moving experience for me, though relatively brief. Beforehand, I did a bunch of reading up on different funeral traditions. I had been misinformed years ago about what the pall is and never questioned it. The pall is actually a large cloth placed over the casket. I imagine this was probably something like a family crest, flag or other decorative cloth . I think that this association with the term, pallbearer, isn’t as important any more since you rarely see a casket with a pall anymore.
The funeral was good, It was nice to hear some stories about him that I hadn’t heard before, and to spend some time reminiscing.
