The Passing of a Titan

My grandfather passed away this week at 100 years old. That’s a long life and he lived like a champ. You can read about him here … http://www.andersonmortuary.com/…/edward-albert-ether-rich . The crazy thing is that pretty much the entire time I knew him, he had already retired. My grandparents lived in New York for most of their lives and since most of the grandkids didn’t, they’d have us all stay with them when we reached 12 years old. Every summer included a trip to Cape Cod. I know that Cape Cod has a special meaning to all his kids and grandkids, as it does to me. I loved it so much, I was more than tempted to move out there after receiving job offers in the area. Back then, I met great people I never would have met, I did amazing things I probably never would have done, and it was all thanks to him.

A for Effort

I lost my sunglasses but tonight one of my kids said proudly, “Guess what I found?” I just shrugged. He reached into his pocket and started to dig around, but after a second or two, panic spread across his face. He then produced just the part that’s in the picture. “I DID find your sunglasses! But I guess I lost the rest.” I could only laugh.

Rock Chips

Seriously!?

What’s annoying about this cracked windshield is that I’ve always gotten rock chips fixed, but recently I read something about ways people waste money on cars and it stated fixing rock chips had no significant impact on whether a windshield cracks. I thought, hmm, well, I could be wrong… It’s been a long time since I’ve had to fix a rock chip. So I didn’t fix it this time and it cracked!

So, Just my own lifetime count for rock chips stands like this now. About 15 rock chips repaired, no cracked windows. 3 unrepaired rock chips, three windows that completely cracked.

I’ll stick with fixing rock chips
